I’m looking at different places for work around the province, and I was wondering what people’s general opinions of their towns or areas are (aside from Toronto, since I’ve lived there and I don’t want to go back). So, if anyone could chime in, that’d be greatly appreciated. And I mean literally
anywhere
. Hell, even Thunder Bay is on the list. Hellcat for your time.

Aren’t there only five cities in Canada? There’s Ontareo, Victoria, British Columbia, North Canada, and New Found Land, right?

I am from the Peterborough, Port Hope, Cobourg area. Nice rural area, Peterborough has a mix of good\cool places to eat\do things and sketchy people. Lots of water around and open spaces.
But I also live outside the city and can’t compare it to too many places.

Peterborough/the Kawarthas were on the list, so I’ll mark it down. Thanks!

Why live in the province where fun goes to die? Move to Montreal

Been to Montreal, not my style. Plus, this employer only operates in Ontario, so I have a list of possible locations to choose from that are literally all over the province.

Unfortunately the best opportunities are in the GTA. However if I could earn a good living in any part of the province of my choosing, I’d either end up in Muskoka or anywhere on Hwy 17 along the Lake Superior shore.

The southern Georgian Bay/Muskoka area is actually available and is on the list, so cheers. Like I said, don’t want to go back to Toronto, and my girlfriend doesn’t want to, either.

Not an Ontario oppo but I’ve been all over and the Ottawa area has always been my favorite

Yeah, I did my degree at the University of Ottawa and I’m still in the city, so it’s my top choice.

Perth and rural eastern Ontario is a really nice area, and Ottawa is just a quick 80 km trip away for when you need city stuff.

Born in Peterborough, grew up in Cobourg. 10/10 would recommend.

The Bellwood/Fergus/Elora area is nice, as is Collingwood/Creemore and I quite like Guelph and KW (mostly W) as far as cities go (not a big city person). The already mentioned Muskoka area is very nice as well. If you’re looking for a change from the Ottawa area, those would be my choices.

The Niagara area is pretty nice, I like it here. Job market isn’t the best, but if an opportunity exists then definitely do that. The Collingwood area is really nice though too.
